Xtract One Technologies (TSX:XTRA) has announced that its Gateway has been chosen to secure key hospital locations across Manitoba.
This includes the province’s Health Sciences Centre and Crisis Response Centre, both operated by Shared Health.
The Xtract One Gateway intends to improve the security experience in these facilities by combining detailed threat detection with a seamless flow of people. This system would enhance safety standards and optimize operational efficiency for patients and staff.
“Healthcare environments today face two security challenges: providing top-tier security while ensuring that both patients and caregivers feel safe and comfortable,” Xtract One’s CEO, Peter Evans said in a news release. “This is a trend we’re seeing across the healthcare sector, where providers are actively looking for solutions to these growing challenges, and we welcome the opportunity to play a role in securing health facility environments.”
Xtract One’s portfolio of screening solutions is specifically designed to scan individuals and their belongings, allowing for seamless passage through checkpoints. This reduces the need for separate bag searches, significantly improving screening times. The Gateway can unobtrusively scan individuals, their pockets, bags, and backpacks for potential mass casualty weapons while distinguishing harmless personal items such as laptops, tablets, three-ring binders, notebooks, eyeglass cases, keys, and phones. This streamlined process ensures that access into and out of facilities is efficient and uninterrupted.
Xtract One stock (TSX:XTRA) last traded at $0.51 and has risen 1.74 per cent this week, but has lost 31.94 per cent since this time last year.
